Basic Fire Awareness Course
Aims of the course: To enable employers to fulfil their legal duties under Articles 13 and 21 of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, to ensure employees understand their own responsibilities within the workplace.
Content: Procedures to take in the event of a fire, the types of extinguisher available and their strengths and weaknesses and other forms of fire suppression. Fire safety signs and escape routes. Operation of a portable fire extinguishers which is backed up by hands-on use in a suitable external area, under controlled conditions.
Duration: Approximately 2 hours for a maximum of 10 persons. If more than one course is held during the day then a discount is available.
Course Literature: Certificate of Attendance and pocket safety guide.
Cost: £200 per session, fully inclusive. (Equivalent to just £20 per person).
Fire Marshal Course
Aims of the course: To enable employers to fulfil their legal duties under Articles 13 and 21 of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, to ensure employees with additional duties understand their own responsibilities within the workplace.
Content: Fire Safety Legislation. Chemistry of fire. Causes of fires within the workplace including the different ways that fire can spread. Identifying Hazards & Risks. The Role of a Fire Marshal (backed up by an FPA approved DVD). Fire safety signs and escape routes. Safe selection and operation of a portable fire extinguisher which is reinforced by hands-on use in a suitable external area under controlled conditions.
Duration: Approximately 4.5 hours for a maximum of 10 persons.
Course Literature: Certificate of Attendance, fire marshal reference book and pocket safety guides.
Cost: £350 per session, fully inclusive. (Equivalent to just £35 per person!).
